This article is a guide to the commands that players, donators, moderators and administrators can use on the HCSMP server. For a list and description of the plugins, please see the Server Plugins article.

Player Commands

Commands to the server are usually of the form:

Command Description
/c(ommand) <required items> (optional items) Description of command

Where to run the command you could use the whole command, i.e.

/command

Or an abbreviation of the command, i.e.

/c

Hardcore

Command Description
/hardcore info <playername> Find out if your frenemies are still alive.

Campfire

Command Description
/campfire terminate Ends your campfire protection, after a confirmation, allowing you to open chests, but making you vulnerable to PvP attacks.
/campfire timeleft <playername> Shows how long a player has left before their timer expires

HeroChat

Command Description
/ch help Get the built-in help information for the HeroChat plugin.
/l(ocal) <message> Send a single message to the local chat, within 64 block radius.
/g(lobal) <message> Send a single message to the world wide chat, for everyone to see.
/irc <message> Send a single message to the IRC chat, for everyone in the HCSMP IRC channel to see.
/ch <channelname> Switch your focus to one of the other channels. Anything you say will be directed there, but you will still hear anything said in your other channels
/qm <channelname> <message> Send a message to the selected channel without switching your focus.
/ch who Find out who else is in a channel with you.
/m(sg) <playername> <message> Send a private message to another player. The playername will autocomplete, so a message to someone named "player", would also go to "playerone", and "playertwo". Please be aware that if you enter just a single common letter as the player name, autocomplete will send the message to everyone with that letter in their name, and you will annoy people.
/tell <playername> <message> Send a private message to another player. This is incompatible with /r as this goes through HeroChat and not Essentials, like /msg.
/r <message> Automatically send a reply message to the last person who messaged you with the /msg command.

Bounty Hunter

Command Description
/bounty list [page number] Get the complete list of all bounties. For a different page, enter the page number.
/bounty view <playername> Find out how big a player's bounty is, and if he's wanted, his last seen location.
/bounty add <playername> <amount> <diamonds/exp> [reason] Add a bounty to the player. This is announced server-wide.
/bounty incognito list List who you have added as friends on the Bounty Hunter plugin.
/bounty incognito add <playername> Add a player to your buddy list, so you don't give away his location on higher bounties
/bounty incognito remove <playername> Removes a player from your buddy list.

Karma

Command Description
/karma <playername> View a player's Karma score.

CommandBook

Please note that the /kill command and any variants thereof have been disabled on our server.

Donator Commands

Donators have access to all of the above commands, with the addition of the following:

Command Description
/me <action> Perform an IRC-like action (currently disabled)

Donators also have the perk of being able to occupy the last 5 player slots - when the server is filled with players, and the player count is 5 below it's maximum, only donators can join the server to play.

Moderator Commands

We have now switched to using the MCBouncer plugin, which doesn't have temporary bans.

Moderators have access to all of the above commands, with the addition of the following:

Please note: The first recourse for all moderator mutes, kicks and bans should be a warning.

Command Description
/lookup <playername> Look up a player in the MCBouncer database, including all bans and notes.
/kick <playername> <reason> Kick a player from the server, with a reason.
/ban <playername> <reason> Permanently ban a player from the server, with a reason. Note: this will display on the MCBouncer page. Please respect their rules regarding profanity and useful information.
/unban <playername> Remove a ban.
/addnote <playername> <note text> Add a note to the player. Note: this will display on the MCBouncer page. Please respect their rules regarding profanity and useful information.
/addgnote <playername> <note text> Add a note to the player. Note: this will display on the MCBouncer page. Please respect their rules regarding profanity and useful information.
/removenote <note number> Removes a note from the player.
